A 37-year-old Duluth man was sentenced in federal court Wednesday to 10 years in prison on drug and firearm charges.
Roy Milburn Caskey Jr. pleaded guilty in February to possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine and possession of a firearm in relation to a drug-trafficking crime.
Caskey was indicted by a federal grand jury in January and was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Richard Kyle at the federal courthouse in Duluth.
In his plea agreement, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said Caskey admitted that on Oct. 5, 2010, he possessed 31.8 grams of crack cocaine, intending to distribute the drug to others. He also admitted he possessed a .44-caliber pistol.
The case was the result of an investigation by the Duluth Police Department and the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
