Letter to the editor: Write me in for city race
In the News-Chronicle a couple weeks ago, there was a headline of “slim pickings” referring to the lack of people putting their names on the ballot for city council this year. I feel strongly that now is my time to get more involved and make a difference for our community.

I have been asked by people of all walks of life to consider running for city council in Ward 1. I consider it a great honor simply to be asked. I consider it an even greater honor asking the citizens of Ward 1 for their vote.
I’m running a write-in campaign, which means you won’t see my name on the ballot. I’m asking the citizens of Ward 1 to write in my name, Seth McDonald, for city council when you vote Nov. 2.
For most of the past 21 years, I’ve lived in Ward 1. I attended middle school at the Minnehaha and graduated from Two Harbors High School in 1995. I own a business in Two Harbors and make my home just a few doors down from the old high school site.
I currently sit on the Two Harbors Planning and Zoning Commission and have enjoyed being able to make a positive difference for our community.
I plan to live in Two Harbors for the rest of my life. I plan on sending my son and daughter to school here. My wife and I believe Two Harbors is a great community to raise a family and I want to do my part to make sure it stays that way.
I’m asking for more than your vote on Nov. 2. I’m asking you to write in my name for city councilor for Ward 1.
If you’d like to share your concerns or ideas with me on how we can make our community stronger, email me at sethmcdonaldward1@gmail.com.
