The Miss Minnesota Scholarship Program is announcing a new local pageant, Miss North Shore in Two Harbors. The pageant is a franchise of the Miss Minnesota Scholarship Program and is a non-profit sub-committee of the Two Harbors Area Chamber of Commerce’s Winter Frolic Committee. The director of the pageant is Vicky Louks of Two Harbors.
Miss North Shore is closed pageant - meaning contestants must be from the Two Harbors and neighboring area and must be a high school graduate between the ages 17 and 24. The contestants are scored in five areas of competition: private interview, talent, swimsuit, evening gown, and on-stage question.
Applications for contestants are being accepted for the pageant that takes place Jan. 8.
Confirmed judges include Miss Minnesota 1997 Jennifer Ostergaard, U.S. Rep. Jim Oberstar, radio personality Cathy Kates, Neil Aitking of Financial Network, and Rhonda Grussdendorf of Star Publishing.
The new Miss North Shore will receive a $1,000 scholarship and a host of other prizes. For more information email MNSPageant @gmail.com.
