The Two Harbors girls swimming and diving team, for those in grades 7-12, starts its season Monday. Practices will be Monday through Friday 2:40-5:40 p.m. at the high school pool until Sept. 7.

There will be two home meets to start the season, Aug. 31 and Sept. 2. Call Tara Kasell at 834-2208 for information.
Football
The first practice of Two Harbors varsity football (grades 9-12) begins at 8 a.m. Monday in the high school locker room. The first practice for junior high football (grades 7-8) begins at 5 p.m. Aug. 23 at the Lake County Arena field. The first practice for Pony Football (grades 3-6) begins at 3:45 p.m. Aug. 30 at the Odegard Park warming shack. Call coach Tom Nelson at 834-4745 with questions.
Soccer
Two Harbors High School soccer team practice begins at 4:30 p.m. Monday at the old high school football field. Anyone in grades 7-12 is welcome to join the team. There will be a parents meeting soon after and a 10 a.m. pancake breakfast Aug. 20 at the Masonic Lodge on Second Avenue. Silver Bay football
The Mariners first football game of the season is at home on Sept. 3 against Cook. The Bay plays four games at home and four on the road. All the home games, except with Orr, will be at 7 p.m. Fridays. The Orr game is on Wednesday before the annual fall break. Other home games will be with Mesabi Academy and Cherry.
