New director, then sharing
The Lake County board discussed at it meeting Tuesday the search for a new health and human services director after the board approved the retirement of Dennis Henkel July 27.
The Lake County board discussed at it meeting Tuesday the search for a new health and human services director after the board approved the retirement of Dennis Henkel July 27.
Henkel pleaded guilty to a DUI charge July 21 in Cook County court. He was on county business at the time of his arrest.
Lake County is looking at possibly combining services with other counties in the region, including Cook County.
It has discussed having a shared director. As of now, the county will look to hire its own director while keeping an eye on ways to share services.
