- Lake Superior Day films sponsored by the Minnesota Sea Grant at Zinema at 222 E. Superior St., Duluth. “Oceans” at 7 p.m. Friday; “The End of the Line”, at 5 p.m. Saturday; “Flow – For the Love of Water” at 5 p.m. Sunday. Festivities are being held in Canal Park, Superior and up the North Shore. All films are free and open to the public.

- Learn about lichens, the folklore of flowers, and North Shore frogs and snakes at various naturalist programs, 10:30 a.m.-8:45 p.m., Gooseberry Falls State Park.

- Open house, plant tours and cookout, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Louisiana-Pacific plant in Two Harbors.

- Lake Superior Salmon Classic Fishing Tournament, Silver Bay Marina.

- “Confessions of a Hiking Fanatic,” 8 p.m., Lady Slipper Lodge at Gooseberry Falls State Park. Talk to a naturalist who has hiked the entire Superior Hiking Trail.

Wednesday 21

- Socially Active Seniors trip to Beaver Bay for picnic and old-time music, noon. Reserve by Monday by calling 830-0600. Cost $3 for bus. Donation at the door.
