The arts and beautification commission in Two Harbors has been busy in its first two months of existence.
John Gregor of the group said last week that it will recommend the new water tower in the industrial park include the words “It All Starts Here” along with the “Two Harbors” designation. The commission will also look into including a silhouette of the Honking Tree as part of the design and has yet to determine the color scheme for the tower.
The group is working with others on possible improvements to Thomas Owens Park and the historic bandshell. Earlier this year, a task force was created to discuss realignments in the park that could include moving the bandshell and making its storage space more workable for the Two Harbors City Band.
The arts and beautification commission has also heard from Arts on Superior about exploring a space to create an arts center in the city.
