The forecast for Grandma’s Marathon race day is looking good for temperatures and wind, but runners may have to face rain and a wet racecourse.

The National Weather Service in Duluth is forecasting temperatures around 50 degrees near Lake Superior for the start of the race and no warmer than 60 when the last runners cross the finish line in Canal Park.

Winds will be from the east at 10 to 15 mph, with gusts up to 20 mph, which will be blowing at the runners’ backs pushing them west toward Duluth.

The Weather Service says there’s a 50 percent chance of rain on Saturday.
