2,000 school ballots come in

About 9,500 ballots have been sent out to registered voters in the Lake Superior School District asking for an operating levy.

About 9,500 ballots have been sent out to registered voters in the Lake Superior School District asking for an operating levy. As of late Tuesday, Superintendent Phil Minkkinen said the district has received about 2,000 votes.

Some of the ballots sent by the district have been returned. It is working to get correct voter addresses and was expected to have all ballots out by this week.

The ballots are due back in the district office May 18 by mail or by hand.
