About 200 skaters, runners and walkers took part in the first May Day 10K Saturday in Two Harbors.
“We are very pleased with how the inaugural event went,” said Tara Alfonsi, NorthShore Inline Marathon executive director. “The weather held out just long enough and our participants were very excited about the course and the Two Harbors venue.”
She said it will be an annual event. Mike Anderson of Bloomington (17:58) and Rayna Meyer of Blaine (21:51) were the top inline skaters.
Running winners were Jamie Otterblad of Two Harbors (40:46) and Melissa Kempenich of Little Falls (44:33).
Some area participants included Keith and Al Svir of Two Harbors, Alfonsi said. “Keith is a regular on the skate circuit.”
Arnold Overby, 75, of Beaver Bay was the oldest skater to finish.
