Lake Superior Community Theater’s production “Little Shop of Horrors” hits the stage April 9, 10, 11, 16 and 17 at William Kelley High School Auditorium.
The musical will star newcomer, Wojciech Franz of Silver Bay, who has seen the movie about 100 times, he said. “Not really,” he said with a laugh about being nervous. “[I will probably] feel more nervous the day of the show.”
He will co-star with Heather Sullivan, who has been in most of the community productions. “Every year it’s a different experience,” she said. “The community involvement is wonderful.”
Paul Deaner, director of the play, said the original script calls for nine people but it was enlarged to 27 to get more people involved.
There are some mature scenes, so it may not be suitable for the little ones. Deaner suggested parents attend the play first and then bring kids if they think it’s suitable for them. There will be a discount for those choosing that route.
