Agate City judo tournament held

The Agate City Open Judo Tournament was held at Two Harbors High School Sunday.

The Agate City Open Judo Tournament was held at Two Harbors High School Sunday. More than 40 competitors from Minnesota and Wisconsin attended.

Most of the competitors were between the ages of 5 and 16. The competitors were divided into divisions based on age, weight, advanced or novice, and male or female.

At least 20 volunteers made the event happen, serving as referees, coaches, time keepers, score keepers, and people helped with set-up and cleanup. Some traveled more than 400 miles at their own expense to volunteer their time. Please see our thank you note in another section of this paper. North Shore Judo Club members John Jezierski and Colton McCullough took first while Jessical Peer, Dan Rose, and Hunter McCullough got seconds.
