3 of Cups: Acoustic folk with a jazz attitude

Acoustic Trio 3 of Cups will appear in concert at 7 p.m. March 5 at the William Kelly High School auditorium. Tickets are $10 adults and $5 for students.

Rachel Nelson and Tracy Jane Comer back each other’s original songs with piano, guitars, fiddle, cello, mandolin, banjo, and hammered dulcimer. Joined with the hand drums and jazz ears of Michael Kiley, the band creates acoustic folk with a jazz attitude. Nelson, of Two Harbors, just received an Arrowhead Regional Arts Council grant to help make an album of her original songs.

Comer and Kiley will appear on the CD.

3 of Cups will also appear at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Duluth at 4 p.m. March 7. Advance tickets can be purchased at www.brownpapertickets.com.
