Gregory Joseph Mielke

Gregory Joseph Mielke, 35, of Duluth, passed away Jan. 1, 2010, at his residence due to natural causes.

Greg was born July 7, 1974, to Charlene (Dauffenbach) and Richard Mielke in Stillwater. Greg was a 1992 graduate of Two Harbors High School and earned a degree in criminology from UMD. Greg attained the rank of Eagle Scout and was a member of the Eagle Scout Association.

He had been working as a career counselor in the Duluth area.

He married Christine Walzak on Sept 27, 2008, in Our Saviors Lutheran Church. He enjoyed woodworking, especially making wood games and puzzles for family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Leo Dauffenbach; paternal grandparents, John and Hazel Mielke.

He is survived by his wife, Christine; his mother, Charlene (Jerry) Wing of Two Harbors; his father, Richard (Barbara) Mielke of Mounds View; a brother, Rick (Stacy) Mielke of Minneapolis; four stepbrothers, Dan (Denise) Wing of St. Paul, Dave Wing of Columbia Heights, Pat Wing and Chris Wing both of Minneapolis; a special nephew, Logan Mielke; maternal grandmother, Charlotte Dauffenbach of Stillwater; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and his companion, Sammy.

Funeral services were held at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. Arrangements were made by Williams Lobermeier Funeral Home.
