Carl Miller, 70, Minneapolis, died Sunday Dec. 27, 2009. He was born to Carl and Impie Sylvia (Wehmanen) Miller August 27, 1939, in Two Harbors, and grew up in Brimson and Duluth.
Carl Miller, 70, Minneapolis, died Sunday Dec. 27, 2009. He was born to Carl and Impie Sylvia (Wehmanen) Miller August 27, 1939, in Two Harbors, and grew up in Brimson and Duluth.
He served in the U.S. Air Force for eight years, including one year at Thule Air Force Base in Greenland. After more than 20 years of silk screening and sandblasting, Carl retired from the paint shop of the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board.
Carl enjoyed playing cribbage, reading Louis L’Amour novels, and watching John Wayne films.
He was preceded in death by long-time partner, Vivian; his father, Carl; and sister, Joan. Carl is survived by his mother, Impie of Duluth; children, Carla (Arthur) Mizejewski of Wisconsin, Dawn (Bill) Storbeck of Blaine, Johanna Miller, Jammy Miller, and Jason Miller of Thunder Bay, Carlynn (Rob) Miller-Gore of West St. Paul; sisters, Judy (John) Bachovchin of Illinois, Joyce (Jerry) Schillinger of Duluth, Jackie (Wally) Lakosky of Parkville, Janine (Ron) Highland of Makinen; brothers, David Miller of Maryland, Guy (Cindy) Miller of Coon Rapids, Dan (Connie) Miller of Embarrass, and Robin (Carrie) Osvold; three grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and his cat, Neiti Kissa.
Visitation begins at 11 a.m. Saturday before a 1 p.m. service at Cavallin Funeral Home in Two Harbors. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Disabled American Veterans group or the American Legion.
