Stella M. Olson

Stella M. Olson, 95, of Hayward, Wis. died Oct. 8, 2009, at the Hayward Nursing Home.

Stella Mildred Olson was born Jan. 14, 1914, in Cooperstown, N.D., the daughter of Bendick and Ida (Arlien) Olson. Stella married Milledge Roscoe on April 9, 1932. She was a homemaker and raised three children. Milledge died in the late 1970s. Stella married Oscar T. Olson on Jan. 2, 1983 in Hayward.

She was active in Eastern Star (Past Matron), Silver Creek Ladies Aide, First Lutheran Church in Hayward and at the Hayward Senior Center. She enjoyed knitting, bingo, quilting and group tours.

Stella is survived by two children, Ronald (Darlene) Roscoe of Duluth, Dorothy (William) Bacon of Avoca, Minn.; step-daughter, Barbara (David) Lyman of Hayward; daughter-in-law, Janice Roscoe of Two Harbors; step daughter-in-law, Darce Olson of Middleton, Wis.; eight grandchildren, Evie, Curt, Amy, Stephanie, Jim, Kim, Kevin and Mark; three great-grandchildren, Gaby, Chandler Mclayne; one brother, Willard Olson; one sister, Deloris Johnson; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by husbands, Milledge and Oscar; infant daughter, Rita; son John Roscoe; grandsons, Joseph and Jeff; brothers and sisters, Jennet Olson, Blanche, Ingmore Olson, Olive Olson, Thorman Olson, Frank Olson, Albert Olson, Kenneth Olson Alf Olson; and step son, David.

A memorial service was held at First Lutheran Church in Hayward. Interment will be in the Silver Creek Cemetery near Two Harbors at a later date.
