The Two Harbors Fire Department did some training Oct. 17 using a donated structure from Joel and Shari MacLeod.
The couple gave the department the building, just inside city limits, last year and the department has used it many times since then. Training included search and rescue, ventilation, and live-burns. The final burn last month gave firefighters the opportunity to work with a live fire.
“It helps members keep up their skills as firefighters,” fire chief Mark Schlangen said. “The process to use a donated structure can be quite involved, and not all structures are suitable, the experience and training received is priceless.”
