The Two Harbors Curling Club (THCC) is preparing to get their 2009-10 season underway and their first event will be hosting open house opportunities on three days in November.
This is a chance for all community members to come and learn about the game on ice that has gained popularity nationwide.
The public is invited to the curling club on Sunday, Nov. 15 from 3-5 p.m.; Monday, Nov. 16 from 5-7:30 p.m.; and Sunday, Nov. 22 from 3-5 p.m.
Anyone that would like to try curling should bring a pair of clean, rubber soled shoes and wear comfortable clothing. The club will provide all other equipment needed. Members will be on hand to demonstrate and give lessons, along with sharing information about membership and league opportunities.
The THCC is also offering a two session community education curling class on Nov. 17 and 19. Registration can be done at the Community Education office at the Two Harbors High School or by calling 834-8201 ext. 8230. The cost for the class is $15.00.
All current members are encouraged to contact their league chair people to register their teams for league play. League information will be available at the open house or on the curling club website, www.twoharborscurling.com. League play will begin on November 23.
