The Silver Bay volleyball team’s slump has continued as the Mariners dropped two more matches.
Last week the Mariners lost to Moose Lake/Willow River 3-1.
“We just can’t pull off these wins lately,” head coach Andrea McMillen said about her 5-8 team.
Katrina Davis had three kills, 14 assists, one ace-serve, one dig and six blocks in the game. Jessica Solberg also helped the team’s cause with five kills, one ace-serve and four digs and Nikki Babbitt had one ace-serve and six digs.
On Tuesday, Carlton upended Silver Bay 3-0 in an emotional match – it was the senior’s last at home.
Kirstin Sandstrom had 10 kills in the match, to go along with eight digs and two blocks. Solberg also helped the team with seven kills, one block, two ace-serves and five digs.
McMillen wants her team to play with unity.
“We’re just trying to play as a team and work together,” she said.
Playoffs begin in a few weeks.
