After a disappointing 7-0 loss to Duluth East last week, Two Harbors has won two straight heading into the playoffs.

Later last week, the Agates pounced on Zimmerman in a 4-2 win in overtime.

Even with the win, Agate coach Jeff Peterson was a little disappointed.

“We played a good first half,” he said about the team’s 2-0 halftime lead. “[Zimmerman] came out and tied us in the second half.”

Ivie Brooks scored both first half goals for the Agates.

In overtime Hayley Horgan punched one in independently and that was followed up by a Kristy Olson goal.

This week, Two Harbors topped Hibbing/Chisholm 3-2.

Kaila Carpenter scored the first goal of the game, followed by one by Lacey Myrdal. Myrdal scored another goal in the second half.

The game was tight near the end as Hibbing/Chisholm scored two in the second half.

“We started playing sloppy,” Peterson said.

Now come the playoffs.

No. 10 Duluth Marshall (4-9-2) visited No. 7 Two Harbors (6-9-2) at 7 p.m. Thursday.

“I think we will be fine,” Peterson said. “It would be very disappointing [if we lost].”
