Even though the Agates volleyball team has won just a few games this season, they have had success elsewhere.
On Saturday the team got up bright and early to help volunteer for the NorthShore Inline Marathon.
“We have been doing it for at least four years,” said Head Coach Dory Pohl.
Team members help out the participants in various ways at the starting line.
This group hasn’t had the best of luck on the volleyball court lately.
Last week the Agates fell to Wrenshall 3-1.
“We started out pretty slow in the first two games,” Pohl said. “We played really well in the third game (which they won). The game was good and disappointing at the same time.”
This week the Agates lost to Hermantown 3-0.
“Hermantown is a very good team; in that we were definitely outmatched,” Pohl said. “They were a very skilled team.”
On Thursday, Sept. 24, Two Harbors will travel to Barnum. Game-time is set for 7 p.m.
“They have a pretty talented team this year,” Pohl said.
The team’s next home game will be at 7 p.m. Oct. 1 against McGregor. It will be a “Dig Pink” event for breast cancer awareness.
