The Silver Bay Friends of the Library Book Club gathered recently to celebrate its 10th anniversary. Founded in May of 1999 by the late Fern Koestner, the group has met monthly and read and discussed more than 120 books. Whatever the book, the discussion is always lively.

Despite recent cuts in funding necessitating shorter library hours, the accommodating Silver Bay librarians have managed to keep the library available for Book Club meetings. Janey Knaffla minds the store for the group at its meetings on the first Monday of the month at 6:30. If the first Monday is a holiday, the meeting is held on the second Monday. New members are always welcome.
