Science fiction anyone?

The Friends of the Library have 22 boxes of sci-fi up for grabs, along with 237 boxes of other titles.

And all of them will be for sale at the group’s annual book sale.

The sale will be held at the Two Harbors Community Center from noon to 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 11 and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 12.

According to one of the organizers, Martha Hoven, this annual September fund-raiser is the Friends of the Library’s “mega event.”

Hoven, who organized all of the books into categories for the sale, said she hopes to add another 50 boxes of books before the event.

The proceeds go to support the library’s needs, that are not otherwise considered in its operating budget.

Hoven, who admits preparing for the sale is a lot of work, is thrilled to see avid readers enjoy the annual smorgasbord of everything from mystery novels to biographies.

“Residents of our area have been so willing to donate quality up-to-date books,” she said. “The books are then reasonably priced for our sale and shoppers love it.”
