The Women of the Moose are holding a fund-raiser Saturday, Aug. 29 in the Moose Lodge parking lot.

The event is for youth involvement. The money raised will go to help the high school defray sports fees cost for parents who have been laid-off or lost their jobs, also to the Minnehaha for classroom items, like notebooks, pencils, etc. The event will be a “Mock Busch Series NASCAR Race.” There will be one driver and two-pit crew (must be 21 and sign a waiver).

The entry fee is $30 per team; drivers will ride a 20-inch bike with a helmet, elbow and knee pads. How many laps participants do will depend on how many teams there are. Qualifying rounds start at 1 p.m., with the top 12 competing afterwards. Trophies for first, second and third will be awarded. Teams can be all men, all women or mixed. A tailgate party will start at noon.

They will be grilling hot dogs, hamburgers and cheeseburgers, and selling 16 ounce Busch Lite taps, pop and bottled water. The public is invited to join in on the fun. Enter your team, bring the family down for lunch and place your bet (donation) on who you think will win. If you are right, you will win a prize. The faster you sign your team up, the better NASCAR numbers you will get.

Contact Cindy at 834-6941for more information. Rain or shine.
