Don and Marlis Runnberg had a nice telephone visit with Bernice Dittmer. She reports she is doing well and hopes to come up for a visit toward the end of August with her nephew. Bernice sends her greeting to friends and keeps up with the North Shore through the Lake County News Chronicle.

Tanner Dufault, son of Joe and Gina Dufault spent the past week here to attend hockey camp. Tanner also got some time to do some canoeing and fishing with Grandpa Don.

Waldo and Pat Hasse are spending some time at their cabin here. Get well wishes go out to Waldo as he has been in and out of the hospital this summer.

Birthday greetings go out to Theresa Nelson who turned the big 50 on Saturday. She celebrated the special day with friends and family, enjoying karaoke at the West Branch.

Eugene Himes spent the week here visiting with his mother, Ruth Himes and his sister Judy Martell.

On Saturday he flew to Phoenix on Navy business for a few days before returning home to Yokosuka, Japan.

On Thursday Ruth Himes visited with her sister Lila Hangartner at the Barross House in Two Harbors. Roger Martell of Duluth spent Saturday here with his mother and grandmother, Judy Martell and Ruth Himes.

Judy Martell and Ruth Himes spent Friday at the Black Bear Casino in Cloquet where Judy attended the Minnesota Township Association meetings. Ruth reported she got the chance to see some of the Hells Angels at Black Bear where they were holding their gathering, and reported they were very well-behaved.

Mark your calendars; the Finland Tori is coming soon. The date is Aug. 15, and will be held at the Finland Heritage l Site on the Little Marais Road from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. with a bonfire held later in the evening.
