North Shore State Parks are participating in Lake Superior Day - a celebration of the Great Lake hosted at various communities around the entire lake every third Sunday in July. The purpose of this special day is to remind people how important the lake and its surrounding basin is to our weather, health, food supply, recreation opportunities, and lifestyles. Lake Superior Day is a time to highlight the many ways people use the lake every day and encourages them to take action to protect it.

Various activities will be held at Gooseberry Falls State Park throughout the day on Sunday, July 19. They include; Lake Superior Geology Hike (9:30-10:30 a.m.), Enviroscape Diorama on Watersheds (10-11:30 a.m.), “Moods of Lake Superior” Photography Slide Show (at 11:30 a.m. and at 1 p.m.), Kids Kite Making & Flying (12:30- 3:00 pm), Nature Cart on Lake Superior Water (1:30- 2:45 pm), Incredible Journey Water Cycle Activity (3:30-4 p.m.), and the Lake Superior Magazine will have a table set up all day displaying Photo Contest Entries.
