Lakeview National Golf Course will host the fifth annual Agate Golf Scramble, in conjunction with Heritage Days weekend, on Friday, July 10. The event will be a 5-person scramble with a shotgun start at 11 a.m.
The cost for the event is $60 per person and includes golf, two carts per team, prizes, proximities, and a food coupon. Registration forms can be found at the Lakeview National Golf Course pro shop or on the Lakeview National Web site, www.lakeviewnational.com. The scramble is limited to the first 30 paid teams.
Twenty-eight teams participated in the 2008 Agate Golf Scramble and defending their title for the second year was the team of Gunner Johnson, Larry Smith, Mike Graden, Gregg Helgeson, and Duane Kempffer.
Classes that are planning on having reunions over Heritage Days are welcome to reserve team spots in this event. The scramble should be over by 5 p.m. in order for participants to attend other Heritage Days or class reunion events.
The Agate Golf Scramble began in 2005 as an event for the All-Class Reunion celebration, but due to its success, it has become a part of the yearly Heritage Days event schedule. Proceeds from local business donations will go towards projects at the Lakeview National Golf Course and to City Wide Agate Pride.
