Nanna E. Chayne
Chayne, Nanna E. (Green), 97, died on June 3, 2009, in Aurora, Colorado. She was born in Two Harbors on January 21, 1912, the daughter of John and Alma (Hedman) Green of South Avenue. Following graduation in 1930, she moved to St. Paul, MN, working at Ancker Hospital.
Chayne, Nanna E. (Green), 97, died on June 3, 2009, in Aurora, Colorado. She was born in Two Harbors on January 21, 1912, the daughter of John and Alma (Hedman) Green of South Avenue. Following graduation in 1930, she moved to St. Paul, MN, working at Ancker Hospital. There Nanna married Frederick Musgrave. Their daughter, Patricia, was born in Two Harbors in 1933. After her divorce she married in 1937 Cecil C. Chayne, who was serving on a Coast Guard cutter in Two Harbors. Their son Robert was born in Sault Ste. Marie, MI, in 1940, and son Darrell was born in Duluth, MN, in 1946. They also resided in Chicago, IL, and St. Paul, MN, before moving to Aurora, CO in 1961. Nanna worked at several retail stores including the BX at Lowry Air Force Base.
Nanna and Cecil enjoyed square dancing, round dancing, and bingo. They made many trips especially to Las Vegas.
She was predeceased by her son Robert (1956) and husband Cecil (1992) as well as her brother Algot Green and his wife Alice, her sister Selma Adams and her husband Joseph.
She is survived by her daughter Patricia Green, Homer, AK; son Darrell (Jacque) Chayne, Aurora, CO; three granddaughters Tracey (Vince) Tillion, Homer, AK; Leslie Harpole, Albany, NY; and Kim (Scott) Quale, Eagle River, AK; four great grandchildren, Clem and Hunter Tillion and Ella and Jack Quale; cousin Geraldine Cooper, Richfield, MN.
Burial will be June 12 in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, MN. No services will be held. Condolences may be sent to Patricia Green, P.O. Box 2558, Homer, AK 99603-2558.
