Two Harbors track fairs well at sub-section meet

The Two Harbors track faired well at last Wednesday’s south sub-section meet at University of Minnesota Duluth’s Malosky Stadium.

In order for a team member, or group of team members to qualify for a section event, they must finish in the top seven for individual events and top four in relay events at the sub-sections.

The section meet will be held Friday at UMD at 10 a.m.

The top two individuals and top relay team at sections qualifies for the state track and field meet at Hamline University on June 5 and 6.

100 meters: 3. Jon McDannold

400 meters: 1. Ryan Guentzel

400 meter relay: 2. Two Harbors

800 meter relay: 1. Two Harbors

Long jump: 1. Alex Horoshak; 3. Caleb Hamp-Sill

Shot put: 1. Matt Wicklund; 2. Alex Rohde

Discus: 3. Rohde

As a team the girls finished third.

3,200 meters: 1. Sonja Peterson

400 meter relay: 2. Two Harbors

1,600 meter relay: 3. Two Harbors
