Forrest Johnson--an Institution

To find out that Forrest Johnson was released from his job as editor is most disturbing. He is an institution in the town of Two Harbors.

To the Editor:

I am probably one of your oldest subscribers to the Lake County News-Chronicle. I have taken the Chronicle for over 60 years. I feel the Chronicle plays a most important role in the town of Two Harbors and its surrounding communities.

To find out that Forrest Johnson was released from his job as editor is most disturbing. He is an institution in the town of Two Harbors. He has served the readers and business people with his editorials, human interest stories and special articles on the towns people. He merits high praise. He worked long hours during the week as well as on week-ends to get the stories and get them published.

I am proud of the Two Harbonites who proudly displayed their displeasure by boycotting the Chronicle office. Forrest will be missed as will his great editorial skills.
