High school students join hands to clean up in Silver Bay

Student councils from Silver Bay, Cook County and Two Harbors High Schools met in Silver Bay for the annual Join Hands Day. Students cleaned up around City Hall, along Outer Drive and near the Silver Bay Marina.

On May 8, the student councils from Silver Bay, Cook County, and Two Harbors High Schools met in Silver Bay for the annual Join Hands Day, sponsored by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. Each year the event rotates between the host school. Last year the schools met in Two Harbors, and next year they will meet in Cook County.

Each year, the student councils use Join Hands Day to perform a service for the host community. This year, the City of Silver Bay Recreation Department provided three areas for students to rake and clean up. One group worked around City Hall, another down Outer Drive and the third group cleaned up around the Silver Bay Marina.
