To the Editor,
As citizens of this community, we all know that Two Harbors is a wonderful place to live and raise a family. We also know that here, like any other community, there is always room for improvement. I truly believe that by working together, we can and will make a difference. Under these challenging economic times we need to be working together for the betterment of our community.
One of the first things I intend to accomplish in my new position as mayor is the creation of a mayor's task force. The purpose of the task force would be to establish and maintain dialog about how we can make the community better. The task force would be a means of improving interaction with the public to bring forward issues and challenges faced by the community so that we can work together to find ways to address them. It would be a way to systematically reach out to a wide variety of citizens with a broad range of concerns.
The task force I propose would be made up of community members who are willing and able to donate their time and efforts towards that purpose. It would be an integral component of this administration and serve as an effective and highly visible bridge between the people of Two Harbors and their municipal leaders.
Please join me for a meeting where we will discuss the City of Two Harbors, 6 p.m., Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at the Two Harbors Community Center.
I look forward to seeing you there. Together we can, and will, make a difference!
