Council considers town bowhunt idea

Bambi may no longer be safe in Two Harbors.

Bambi may no longer be safe in Two Harbors.

At Monday’s city council meeting, mayor Randy Bolen Jr. mentioned that he’s received complaints from people who don’t like the “town deer” visiting their yards.

The subject came up parenthetically during a discussion about free-roaming dogs and cats. The council decided it would meet with someone from the Humane Society to discuss how to handle the complaints coming in about people’s pets.

Then Bolen reluctantly brought up the deer, throwing out the idea of a bow season within the city limits and calling it “something that’s been on the back burner.”
