He was born May 10, 1949 to Melvin and Lois (LaFrenier) Larson in Mahnomen, Minnesota. He grew up in Beaver Bay and served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was employed as a construction worker for several years until an accident left him disabled on February 22, 1982. Larry returned to Beaver Bay in 1984. He enjoyed fishing on The Big Lake, hanging out with his buddies, spending Saturdays at Knife River, and fast cars.
He is preceded in death by his father.
Larry is survived by his son, Michael Larson of Grand Junction, Colorado; daughter, Casey Larson of Silver Bay; mother, Lois Larson of Beaver Bay; wife of 27 years, Ginny, stepdaughters, Deb Torgerson and Corinne Hangartner both of Silver Bay; special son, Christopher Larson; brothers, Dan of Las Vegas, Alan and Timothy of Beaver Bay, and Dale of Isabella; sister, Cynthia Foust of Las Vegas; and grandchildren, Nautica, Wiley, Talon LaRay (after Grandpa), Brandon, Melanie, and Megan.
Visitation, 10 a.m., and Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at St. Marys Catholic Church in Silver Bay. Arrangements by Cavallin Funeral Home.
