Marvin T. Robinson, 79, of Silver Bay, MN died Friday February 27, 2009 at the Solvay Hospice House in Duluth, MN surrounded by his family.
He was born in Barron County, Wisconsin on September 19, 1929, the son of Elmer and Annie (Leverson) Robinson.
He attended country school in rural Chetek, WI, and served in the United States Army 3rd Infantry from 1951 to 1957. He married Sharon Marik on April 27, 1953 in Center City, MN, and they made their home in Silver Bay, MN where Marvin worked for North Shore Mining Co. until his retirement.
Marv was a member of Sychar Lutheran Church in Silver Bay, VFW Post 6204, Harbor Mates and the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, softball, bowling, and camping, traveling and spending time with his grand and great-grand children.
Marv was preceded in death by his parents; one brother Stewart; one sister, Dorothy Atwood and grandson Derek Wick.
He is survived by his wife Sharon; four children, Connie (Stephen) Wick of Deale, MD, Shari (Jeff) Conway of Purcell, OK, Mark Robinson (Connie Knaffla) of Silver Bay, Tami (Bruce) Engstrom, Chetek, WI; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two brothers his twin brother Malvin of Silver Bay and Darrel of Cameron, WI; sisters Ethel Jerome of Barron, WI, Violet Franklin of Silver Bay, MN, Genevieve Ganske, Marlyce Olson, Donna Unbehaun, Margaret Lyon and Charlotte Muermann all of Chetek, WI, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation - 5-7 PM Monday March 2, 2009 at Sychar Lutheran Church in Silver Bay, and one hour prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service on Tuesday, at Sychar Lutheran Church in Silver Bay with the Rev. Robin K. Nice officiating. A private burial will take place at a later date. Arrangements by Cavallin Funeral Home in Two Harbors, MN.
