Frank J. Salowitz, 88, died June 9, 2007, in Two Harbors.
Frank J. Salowitz was born on Sept. 20, 1918, in Bad Axe, Mich., the son of Benedict and Mary Richards Salowitz.
On Oct. 26, 1943, he married Martha L Harness in San Francisco, Calif.
The couple resided in Warren, Mich., for 23 years, where Frank was employed in various shops as a tool and die maker. In 1974 they moved to Dubuque, Iowa, where he was employed with John Deere until 1981. Upon Frank’s retirement the couple moved to Waupun, Wis.
Frank was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Waupun, Wis., and a member of American Legion Post 521, Fox Lake, Wis. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served in World War II.
Frank was preceded in death by his wife Martha in 1989; along with four brothers, Sylvester, Louis, Benedict and Edward; and two sisters, Edna (Ed) Paionk and Marie (Dave) Wrubel.
He is survived by three sons and one daughter, Frank (Lynda Sims) Salowitz Jr., Dyersburg, Tenn., Sharon Salowitz Mushrush, Volcano, Calif., Charles (Camille) Salowitz, Winnetka, Ill., and Stephen (Kim) Salowitz, Two Harbors; seven grandchildren, Mark, Nathan, Peter, Jacob, Jeffrey, Joseph and Elizabeth.
Services were held in Waupun, Wis., on June 12, 2007.
