Water contact not recommended at 13 area beaches

The Minnesota Department of Health advised the public not to enter the water at 13 area beaches on Lake Superior Tuesday.

According to a release issued by the MDH's Minnesota Lake Superior Beach Monitoring Program, elevated E. coli levels were found yesterday at more than a dozen local beaches, including Agate Bay in Two Harbors and Twin Points Public Access north of Gooseberry Falls State Park.
