Storms in Northland prompt tornado warnings, drop torrential rain

Strong storms moved across parts of the Northland on Monday night and early Tuesday morning, bringing torrential rainfall to some areas and prompting several tornado warnings.

The tornado warnings -- for the Cable and Seeley areas in Northwestern Wisconsin, and in areas west and southeast of Brainerd -- were based on radar-indicated rotation in storms; there was no immediate confirmation of any tornado touchdowns.
