The groups have started a weekly program that will run this August and feature readings from “In Our Backyard,” a book written by Nita Belles, an Oregon author and anti-human trafficking crusader. Belles’ book analyzes human trafficking from a Christian perspective and provides readers true accounts of trafficking through the stories of victims, survivors and the traffickers themselves.

For those interested in participating in the weekly readings and discussions, there is a limited number of copies of Belles’ book that can be borrowed free of charge. Print and electronic copies of the book can also be purchase.

The first meeting will be held 7 p.m. Tuesday at the AGE to age Place in the Two Harbors Community Center. Participants will receive their copy of the book, as well as a brief presentation from a task force representative on the state of human trafficking in the United States.

The group will convene Tuesday nights through Aug. 26.
