Robert Bergren Miller was born May 6, 1931 to Rose Bergren Miller and Wiley Miller in Minneapolis, Minnesota. At age four he moved to Two Harbors, MN. He attended Two Harbors High where he excelled in sports and music. His college education was at Gustavus Adolphus College, and UMD. He spent four years in the Navy as an aerographer. On June 9, 1956 he married Nancy Cullen at the Methodist Church in Two Harbors. He attended dental school at the University of Minnesota and received his Doctor of Dentistry degree in 1962.

Bob moved to Fosston, MN with his wife, Nancy, and daughters Michelle "Mickey" and Julie in 1962 to join Dr. Jack McNeil's dental practice; Drs. Kurt Albright and Todd Sandwick later joined the practice. Son Max, much to Bob's joy and amazement, was born in 1973. Bob retired from dentistry in 2001.

Bob was a member of the Fosston United Methodist Church where he served as lay leader. He served on the Fosston School Board for 20 years, much of that time as chairman. He was a member of the American Legion for 47 years.

Bob had a humble spirit and was a dedicated husband, father and friend. His home was a sanctuary, but he willingly left it to go with Nancy ("the love of his life") on "adventures." He enjoyed spending time at the family cabin at Sand Lake, especially when his children and grandchildren could share it.

Many knew him as "their dentist." His goal was perfection and he believed it was his mission to serve his patients.

On Thursday, June 4, 2009 Bob passed away at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN at the age of 78 years.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy of Fosston; daughter Michelle "Mickey" Miller and her husband Rob Kopp of Dodge Center/Racine, MN; daughter Julie Hutchison and her husband Keith of Jackson, TN; son Max Miller and his wife Krystyl of Superior, WI; two grandchildren, Christa Hutchison and Amanda (Damon) Coyle; great-granddaughter Riyah Coyle; brother, Jack Miller of Peoria, AZ; sister-in-law, Claire Cullen of Two Harbors; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rose Falk; his father, Wiley Miller; his stepfather, Roland Falk; Nancy's parents, Art and Marian Ivy Cullen; a favorite nephew, David Cullen; and two brothers-in-law, Paul and Dale Cullen.
