Influenced by English and Chinese folk pottery, Al Omarzu creates ash glaze forms with unique decoration and texture. Omarzu is recognized for the commercial work he does - including clients Grandma's Marathon, Great Lakes Aquarium, and the Superior Hiking Trail - that encompass hard-edge graphics and logos.

The Two Harbors resident also exercises his creativity as a mechanic, welder, illustrator, hot rod builder, violin maker, leather flight jacket restorer, and nose art painter.

The Waterfront Gallery is at 632 First Ave. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. For more information on the Omarzu exhibit and other exhibits, visit www. waterfront-gallery.com.
