Please join us for these upcoming programs:

• On Tuesday, July 1, there’ll be rock painting at the library. The creative fun starts at 11 a.m.

• On Wednesday, July 3, at 12 p.m., the library will host a presentation by authors Mike Link and Kate Crowley, husband and wife, naturalists and grandparents, who completed a five-month expedition spanning three states and a Canadian province. Mike and Kate circumnavigated Lake Superior on foot, hiking as close to the shoreline of the lake as possible. They undertook not just a personal journey of a lifetime, but a scientific expedition. Throughout the hike, the couple recorded important data about the ecology of the shoreline, the people and places they encountered, the streams they crossed and the adventure of a lifestyle as focused nomads. Come and listen as they speak of their adventur, their love for our greatest lake and what we must do to preserve it.

• Saturday, July 12, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., has been set aside for the Friends of the Library book sale. If you would like to volunteer with set-up, please call the library at 218-226-4331. The library is accepting good, clean, used books from now until Friday, July 11. Please, no musty books or textbooks.

Two Harbors Public Library News You’re invited to attend these upcoming events:

On Monday, June 30, at 3 p.m., Jack Pearson, better known as “Mr. Song-Strummin’ Storyman,” will be performing live at the library. Jack creates a fun family experience through music and stories to promote the love of libraries, books, and reading. Enjoy a musical performance that will open the twin doors of information and imagination no matter your age!

On Thursday, July 3, at 6:30 p.m., Mike Link and Kate Crowley will talk about their five-month, 1,555 mile hike around Lake Superior and their book, “Going Full Circle,” a chronicle of the experience. They will also discuss their plans for another great adventure and touch on a previous book, “Places to Go, Wisdom to Share,” about traveling with kids. This is an adventurous couple, and their experiences should make for an adventurous presentation!

The Heritage Days book sale is just weeks away!

The Friends of the Two Harbors Public Library are planning a book sale to align with the city’s Heritage Days celebration, so if you have any books, movies, or CDs that are in good condition and taking up space in your home, donate them to the library! Your donations will be greatly appreciated. Items may be dropped off at the library anytime its doors are open. If you’d like to use the donations as a tax write-off, the library can provide you with a receipt; just make sure that you let us know right away, as we can’t go back and make a receipt later.
