People lined the shore of Lake Superior near Knife River Wednesday evening as the HMS Bounty made anchor just off of Knife Island. Sailboats, cruisers, and even kayakers circled the impressive three-masted vessel. The ship, a replica of the one made famous by mutiny more than 200 years ago, has been used in seafaring films the past 50 years, including Marlon Brando's "Mutiny on the Bounty" in 1960 and Johnny Depp's more recent "Pirates of the Caribbean" films. Duluth expects more tha 200,000 visitors this weekend as it hosts another Tall Ships event at the harbor. Nine ships were scheduled to enter Duluth Thursday in a spectacular parade of towering masts, straining sails and moving wood. While most of the action will take place around Canal Park through Sunday, don't be surprised if you look out on the water of Lake Superior the next few days and see a blast from the 1800s past.
