Most foreign policy moves by the United States government are made to advance the rich in the U.S. War, occupation, economic sanctions and drone use… none of it is to keep us free or to help the downtrodden elsewhere.

Obama’s Afghan war is now three-and-a- half times longer than America’s involvement in WWII. And the goal is not freedom for Afghan people. Bush, Clinton, Bush, and Obama killed over a million Iraqis with bombing, economic embargo, invasion, and occupation, all criminal ploys to steal Iraqi wealth.

The U.S. gulag in Guantanamo is still a functioning symbol of the state of the U.S. Constitution. Guantanamo itself is occupied territory and a slap in the face of our Cuban neighbors. Israel is a regime that is ethnically cleansing the Palestinians who are prisoners in their own land. The weapons that maim, kill and imprison the Palestinians are paid for by the non-rich in the U.S. Israel is a worse perpetrator of racist apartheidism than South Africa was and the U.S. media keeps us forever brainwashed.

The U.S. sends soldiers all over the world to “keep us free” or to “liberate them.” If you believe that then you probably believed it when the U.S. told us about the Vietnamese boats attacking U.S. warships in the Gulf of Tonkin or when George W. told us that Saddam was a friend of Al Qaida and had weapons of mass destruction.

It is all insane and why? Because the U.S. represents big business and wants us to be cannon fodder (and to die if necessary) for big oil, big weapons, corporations, or big banks. Instead of killing workers and farmers and children in other countries, we need to say no. It is wrong to do the dirty work of thugs.

A former U.S. Marine general Smedley Butler said:

“War is a racket. It always has been. It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives. A racket is best described, I believe, as something that is not what it seems to the majority of the people. It is conducted for the benefit of the very few, at the expense of the very many. Out of war, a few people make huge fortunes.”

The Bushes, LBJs, Obamas, NBCs and Washington Posts of this good old U.S. of A. will never be more than liars and representatives of the rich.
