Two Harbors Minnesota 109 Waterfront Dr. 55616

On March 18, the Cass County Sheriff’s Office in Fargo, N.D., awarded Sergeant Gail Wischmann, daughter of Kenneth Wischmann, Deerwood, Minn., the sheriff’s medal. Wischmann grew up in Silver Bay and graduated from William Kelley High School in Silver Bay.

The Cass County Sheriff presented the medal to Wischmann, who is the department’s internal affairs investigator, for distinguishing herself by demonstrating leadership, professionalism, and community service.

Wischmann performs investigative duties for the sheriff’s office and other local agencies that few would want and most would dread. She does so without apology and with unwavering determination.

On September 12, 2013, Wischmann was awarded the National Internal Affairs Investigators Association’s Exemplary Service Award as an executive board member (treasurer).
