Inca Dove lands in Two Harbors

Drivers along Third Street in Two Harbors last week may have wondered what all the commotion near Second Avenue was about. This Inca Dove, barely bigger than a sparrow, flew through local birder Jim Lind's backyard on October 30 and it has remained in the neighborhood for at least a week. This is the first-ever Inca Dove record for Minnesota, and dozens of birders from across the state have come to see the bird. Inca Doves are normally found in the southwestern U.S. and Central America, but they occasionally wander far out of range during the fall migration.
