Last week, third-graders at Minnehaha Elementary in Two Harbors and William Kelley Elementary in Silver Bay learned about bike safety and got free helmets thanks to the Arrowhead Regional

Development Commission and Healthy Northland.

On Thursday, the students saw a short demonstration about staying safe on roadways when biking and were fitted with free helmets.

The program was brought to the schools by Leah Bott, the countywide Statewide Health Improvement Program coordinator. She’s spending the spring focusing on safety for bikers and pedestrians

in the county.
