The fire department will be open for business on Saturday. They will be serving up brats, hot dogs and burgers with all the fixings. Stop by and support the fire department. They will be open before, during and after the parade.

The Finland Co-op will be selling refreshments outside. Four Seasons Beer Van and Mojakka will be doing business before and during the parade outside the old Metzinger house, which is across the road from the fire hall.

A craft fair will be held at the Clair Nelson Center from 8 a.m. -3 p.m. on Saturday. Stop out for the Finland Minnesota Historical Society’s pancake breakfast from 8 -10:30 a.m., for a great breakfast, then get in some shopping before the parade which starts at high noon. There will also be lunch, kids’ games and polka music to be announced.

Local businesses will be having music in the afternoon and evening.

Seven teams turned out for the St. Urho’s Scavenger Hunt Sunday afternoon. They had two hours to find 82 different items and they all did really well. The winning team was the Repeat Offenders — Heather Lehtinen and Senja Ahlbeck – who were victorious despite the judges’ attempts to handicap them somehow. It was reported that everyone had a really good time and it was fun to see what people come up with.

Remember to take in the St. Urho’s workshop on March 7, 8 and 9 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Clair Nelson Center. Paper mache and other prop making will be available to get ready for the big parade. All are welcome and refreshments will be provided. To register your float contacts Cheri Bischoff at 218-353-7743.
