Two Harbors Assistant Police Chief Kevin Ruberg said a 46-year-old woman may have "suffered some difficulties due to an illness." He said she was traveling north on Seventh Street near the school and then crossed the centerline and hit a parked car. He said the impact of the accident forced the truck into reverse and spun it it up onto the stairway.

An ambulance crew arrived shortly after 8:30 a.m. while the driver was seen walking around the scene. No other injuries were reported. The driver was taken to Lake View Memorial Hospital for observation.

The site of the accident is a morning drop-off spot for students at the school and the area was full of students just a half hour before the truck landed on school grounds.

Officers from the Two Harbors Police Department and the Lake County Sheriff's Office responded. Ruberg said no charges are being sought against the driver.
