Re-visioning Two Harbors, an initiative of Arts on Superior held its inaugural meeting in February, followed by a second meeting this month. The purpose of the gatherings is to garner community input and make Two Harbors “a place where art happens,” said the group’s founder and facilitator, Linda Melcher.
“Meetings were well attended and a lot of great ideas were shared,” she said, including a suggestion supported by community members, artists and arts organizations, and local businesses — the creation of a community calendar.
“We are proud to announce that a community online calendar has been created and everyone’s contributions are welcome,” said a press release issued this week. All events are welcomed and encouraged. Events do not need to be arts related.
To share your events, visit: TwoHarborsCommunityCalendar.org On the website there is a calendar to track local happenings by month, week, or day, and color-coded categories for different types of events. More categories can be added as needed. The website’s “Contact Form” page allows users to submit events for posting to the common calendar. The “Community Links” page is for creating links to other local websites and for Facebook and Twitter information. Submit the “Community Link” for your group through the “Contact Form” or email TwoHarborsCommunityCalendar@gmail.com
The Two Harbors Community Calendar is a great addition to the Re-Visioning project and to the community. All Re-visioning Two Harbors meetings will be listed there. Our next meeting will be in May with a date and place to be determined.
